“Five components are necessary for a profession to establish its rightful position in the society. These components are: Body of Knowledge, Research, Education, Standards and Certification. Project management discipline has all these 5 components in place, and therefore, it is not surprising that in the last decade, there has been an over 15-fold increase in the total number of certified project professionals worldwide.
If Indian professionals want to be proactive, it is imperative for themselves to get them certified or assessed as project professionals. As of now, India has about 1414 certified project professionals at Level D only as opposed to China touching a base of over 8000 over all the 4 levels of certification i.e. D, C, B & A.
As the President of PMA, a not for profit registered society, I urge organizations to initiate a certification drive and individuals to pursue their dream to be the best globally by acquiring additional credentials of being certified in project management discipline.”
Adesh Jain, IPMA First Assessor, President, PMA and Dy Chairman, CoD, IPMA, Switzerland
“Project Management capability is a thrust area for India to achieve its targeted GDP growth over the next decade. Project management certification is a key enabler towards this achievement.”
K Venkataramanan, IPMA First Assessor, Member of the Board & President - Oprns, L&T
“The benefits of Project Management certification are many. Most significant is the understanding and alignment that has resulted across the strong functional elements in our organizations. This alignment has allowed project processes and training materials to be consistently understood and accepted, yielding more effective application.”
